SACHA INCHI AND THE SKINCARE AND HAIRCARE
The skin is composed of phospholipids, cholesterol, and polyunsaturated fatty acids such as alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). Omega-3 fatty acids are essential and found in high concentrations in Sacha Inchi oil (47%), which is the main raw material for our cosmetic and personal care products. Omega-6 fatty acids, like linoleic acid, are essential for the proper functioning of the human body. They play an important role in skin homeostasis by incorporating themselves into the skin's phospholipids and triglycerides, improving the skin barrier, hydration, and combating free radicals.
The linoleic acid contained in Sacha Inchi is a fatty acid that has anti-inflammatory properties in addition to providing structural support to the cell membrane. It reduces water loss from the skin and is therefore a great moisturizer, providing nourishment and softness to the skin. Gamma linolenic acid maintains skin elasticity and is involved in anti-inflammatory processes, reducing redness and irritation. It is non-comedogenic and helps prevent acne.
Oleic acid is absorbed into the outer layers of the epidermis, preventing dehydration, while linoleic acid is absorbed into the inner layers, helping to maintain elasticity and promoting collagen production.
